What are we reading?

After a captivating visit to the charming coastal gem of Monterey in Northern California, I found myself drawn to John Steinbeck's Cannery Row.

It's filled with eccentric characters, humorous situations, and heartfelt moments that capture the essence of life in a small coastal town during the Great Depression. Steinbeck's vivid descriptions and keen observations make the setting come alive, painting a picture of a place where ordinary people find beauty and meaning in the simple things.

Monterey was once a bustling center for the sardine packing industry. At its height in the 1930s and 1940s, Monterey's canneries processed millions of pounds of sardines each year. The industry played a significant role in the local economy and attracted workers from diverse backgrounds to the area.

I really enjoyed it!

 What are we snacking on?

I love chips! Lately, I have been drizzling Trader Joe's Crunchy Chili Onion on my potato chips and it instantly elevates them and gives them a pop! Pair it with some rose and serve at your next get together or movie night at home!

What's on our viewing menu this week?

Our latest cinematic discovery is none other than the classic French film "La Piscena." Set amidst the breathtaking scenery of a summer villa in Cote d'Azur, the film's sumptuous visuals really put you in the mood for summer!
