Beyond the Page: Exploring beats and eats and everything in between!

What have we been listening to?

We've been vibing to the smooth, timeless sound of Thee Sacred Souls. Their music effortlessly transports you to a soulful, feel-good place, blending vintage R&B, soul, and a touch of old-school funk. It’s the kind of sound that feels like a warm breeze on a summer night—sweet, nostalgic, and uplifting.

Our favorite track? "Can I Call You Rose"—a tender, dreamy tune with soft vocals that melt into the rhythm, making you want to play it on repeat. You can listen to it here (just click on the track to listen):

Perfect for those slow, reflective moments or when you just want to unwind with something that feels both classic and fresh.

What have we been drinking?

We’ve been loving Trader Joe’s Aperol Spritz in a tiny bottle! This perfectly portioned, fizzy cocktail brings a taste of summer to any moment. Keep it chilled in the fridge, then pour it into a glass with a chunky ice cube and top it with a fresh orange slice for a zesty burst of flavor. The balance of bitter and sweet, with just the right amount of bubbles, makes it ideal for lazy afternoons or an easy aperitif before dinner.

Refreshing, light, and fun—it's the kind of drink that makes you feel like you're sitting at a sidewalk café in Italy, even if you're just lounging at home. Cheers!

What are we watching?

Frances Ha—I can't believe I hadn't seen this gem before! It has quickly become one of my all-time favorites. This black-and-white indie film, directed by Noah Baumbach, captures the messiness and charm of trying to find your way in life, especially when your dreams don’t exactly match your reality.

The film follows Frances, a quirky, free-spirited aspiring dancer in New York City, navigating friendships, career struggles, and self-discovery. Its unique blend of humor and melancholy, along with Greta Gerwig’s wonderfully relatable performance, makes it both heartwarming and refreshingly real. It's a celebration of imperfection, making you smile and reflect on your own path.
