Breakfast or Aperitivo?

Is it breakfast or aperitivo? A soft-boiled egg, topped with half a teaspoon of Italian Bomba Hot Pepper Sauce (Calabrian Chili Peppers), half an anchovy, a sprinkle of Nori Komi Furikake, maldon salt, and a drizzle of good olive oil. Salty, spicy, umami-rich. It hits every note. I’m never quite sure if I want it with coffee in the morning or paired with a rose in the late afternoon! Cheers!

It's TK-LA Aperitivo Hour with a Twist: Italian Sundae

It’s usually aperitivo hour, but today I’m making an Italian sundae instead! The weather’s so hot, and I had all the ingredients at home and it’s the perfect treat to pause and cool down. Trader Joe’s came out with a new Italian gelato this summer, Pistachio and Fior di Latte. Pantry Lunch: Tinned Sardines, But Make It Chic

Sometimes the best lunches come straight from the pantry with just a few fresh touches. This week, I made a quick pantry lunch built around one of my favorite staples: tinned sardines. I grabbed a bunch of endive leaves and smeared each one with a little hummus, added a drizzle of Calabrian red chili oil, and topped them with sardines. Some I kept simple — just the hummus and chili oil — and others I added the sardine for a salty, rich bite.
