Where I Wore My Lightweight Shawls This Summer
Share
Summer style, for me, is all about ease—dresses I can throw on, light layers that keep me comfortable, and pieces that feel both functional and beautiful. I’ve always loved scarves for their versatility, and this season, I’ve especially been reaching for my long wool/silk blend ones. They’re perfect for breezy evenings, sun protection during the day, and, most of all, for adding texture, color, and personality to simple summer outfits.
Here are five looks I’ve worn so far this season—each styled with a scarf I love, in a way that felt fun, fresh, and uniquely me.
1. The White Dress + Silva Scarf (Sunday Brunch)
This white cotton dress is a summer staple—clean, breezy, and easy to style. I paired it with the Silva Scarf, which has a mix of burgundy and soft muted tones. Draped loosely over my shoulders, it added depth and contrast to the crisp white, giving the whole outfit a slightly romantic, old-world feel. It was simple, but definitely not plain. I wore this outfit to a brunch outing by the ocean.

2. The Blue Floral Dress + Azniv Scarf (Day trip to Santa Barbara)
This one felt playful and full of character. This blue dress with tiny white flowers was charming on its own, but pairing it with the Azniv Scarf brought a whole new energy. The scarf’s navy base and sundial motifs in red, orange, and mustard made it feel bolder and brighter. I draped it casually over one shoulder and let the colors and shapes do the talking! It was the perfect ensemble for a day trip to Santa Barbara. I was happy to have my shawl around my shoulders as the weather got cooler at night.
3. The Polka Dot Dress + Lori Scarf (Wedding Look)
For a summer wedding, I wore a navy blue semi-puffy dress with classic white polka dots—elegant but fun. I added the Lori Scarf, which is black with oversized floral bouquets in vibrant shades. The contrast between the structured dots and the large, painterly flowers created a beautiful tension that felt dressy but not overdone. It was one of my favorite combinations—unexpected and memorable. I loved it so much that I also wore this combo to my Avaline collar dinner!
4. The Hot Pink Dress + Azniv Scarf (Garden Party)
This summer there have been a lot of garden parties (which I love) and for this particular evening garden party I wore a bold hot pink dress—bright, joyful, and very me. I brought back the Azniv Scarf, this time draped around my shoulders and knotted in the back like a shrug. The deep navy and rich jewel tones balanced the vivid pink perfectly. The outfit was both colorful and composed, ideal for a summer night outside. I added strappy heels that made it perfect!
5. The White Denim & Tank + Zabel Scarf (Happy Hour)
Getting dressed for happy hour, I kept it simple with white jeans and a tank top—clean, easy, and summer-ready. I brought along my Zabel shawl to drape over my shoulders once the breeze kicks in. It adds just the right touch of color and gives my outfit a point of interest without trying too hard.
